Our stylists are so much more than a "hairdresser" or a "barber"!

They are that unique blend of both with skills to enhance the experience of our clients, delivering haircuts and facial hair styling that enhances the natural attributes of each individual.

Its a gift and a passion to have the ability to assess the hair type, texture, and desired outcome to determine the most appropriate cutting technique for the best result for our clients with long / medium length hair. OR a growth and style plan for our guys with the dream to have a long hairstyle that enhances their look and personality!

Some popular options include the;

1. Man bun:

This style involves tying your long hair into a bun at the back or top of your head. It can provide a polished and sophisticated look.

2. Ponytail:

Another easy and popular hairstyle for men with long hair is the ponytail. You can tie your hair back at the nape of your neck for a casual and effortless look.

3. Half-up-half-down:

This style involves tying half of your hair up in a small bun or top knot, while leaving the rest of your hair down. It creates a trendy and fashionable look.

4. Braids:

Braiding your long hair can add a touch of elegance and uniqueness to your hairstyle. You can try different types of braids such as French braids or fishtail braids.

5. Flowing curls:

If you have naturally curly hair, letting it flow freely can create a relaxed and carefree look. Use appropriate hair products to enhance and define your curls.

6. Surfer hair:

This style is characterised by long, tousled hair with a beachy and relaxed vibe. It can be achieved by using salt sprays or texturising products to create a messy and natural look.

7. Slicked back:

For a more polished and formal look, you can slick back your long hair using styling gel or pomade. This style works well for special occasions or professional settings.

8. Undercut with long hair:

This style involves shaving the sides and back of your head while keeping the top long. It creates a contrast between the short and long hair, resulting in a modern and edgy look.

Some of the cutting techniques to achieve gorgeous styles include;

1. Layering:

Layering is a popular cutting technique for long haircuts in men. It creates texture and movement by cutting different lengths of hair throughout the layers. This technique helps to prevent the hair from looking heavy and adds volume to the overall style.

2. Tapering:

Tapering involves cutting the hair shorter towards the ends, creating a gradual decrease in length. This technique adds shape and structure to the haircut while still maintaining the length and flow of the hair.

3. Texturizing:

Texturizing is a technique used to remove bulk and add texture to long hair. It involves using various cutting tools like razors or texturising scissors to create shattered or feathery ends. This technique helps to soften the overall look and reduce any heavy or dense appearance.

4. Point cutting:

Point cutting is a technique where we cut the hair vertically, rather than horizontally, to create textured ends. This technique adds movement and softness to the hairstyle, especially useful for those with straight or fine hair.

5. Thinning:

Thinning is a technique used to reduce the thickness of the hair without significantly altering the length. It involves using thinning scissors or razors to remove some of the bulk from the hair. This technique is suitable for those with thick or dense hair who want to achieve a more manageable and lighter style.

6. Blunt cut:

A blunt cut involves cutting the hair to one even length without any layers or tapering. Although more commonly associated with shorter haircuts, it can also be used for long hair to create a sleek and polished look.

Remember, it is essential to take proper care of your long hair by regularly washing, conditioning, and trimming it to maintain a healthy and stylish appearance.

One of our guys (Mr P) has arranged to get a hair transplant this summer.

While we offer non surgical hair solutions for guys with hair loss, hair pieces, and the maintenance of same, for some this is just a holding position until a transplant could either be afforded or a place recommended!

Many guys have over time expressed their interest to go down this route but are nervous, not just of the surgery itself but the whole uncertainty of the results!

Follow this blog to share in the journey!

Its now 8 weeks and counting until the transplant - in Turkey

Mr. P is scared, excited in equal measure.

The flight is booked!

The arrangements have been made!

For this first blog post we are going to talk about hair loss and the hair transplant procedure.

Hair loss is a common concern for many people, and hair transplant is one of the available treatments for addressing significant hair loss or baldness. Here's some information on hair loss and the hair transplant procedure:

  1. Hair Loss Causes: Hair loss can be caused by various factors, including genetics, hormonal changes, medical conditions (such as alopecia areata or thyroid disorders), certain medications, stress, nutritional deficiencies, and aging.

  2. Non-Surgical Treatments: Before considering a hair transplant, individuals may explore non-surgical treatments such as medications, low-level laser therapy, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. These treatments aim to slow down hair loss, promote hair regrowth, or improve the overall hair condition. or to have hairpieces or fillers to improve thier appearance.

  3. Hair Transplant Procedure: Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure that involves moving hair follicles from one part of the body (known as the donor site) to the balding or thinning areas (known as the recipient site) on the scalp. The most common technique used is follicular unit transplantation (FUT) or follicular unit extraction (FUE).

    • FUT: In FUT, a strip of scalp containing hair follicles is surgically removed from the donor area, usually the back or sides of the head. The donor area is then sutured, leaving a linear scar. The strip is dissected into individual follicular units, which are then transplanted into the recipient site.

    • FUE: FUE involves extracting individual hair follicles directly from the donor area using a punch-like instrument. These follicles are then implanted into the recipient site. FUE leaves tiny, dot-like scars that are less noticeable than the linear scar from FUT.

Mr. P has opted for the FUE procedure

  1. Recovery and Results: After a hair transplant, the transplanted hair may initially fall out, which is normal. New hair growth typically begins within a few months. The final results can take up to a year to become fully apparent. Following the procedure, it's important to follow the surgeon's instructions for post-operative care to ensure proper healing and maximize the success of the transplant.

2. Considerations and Consultation: If you're considering a hair transplant, it's essential to consult with a qualified and experienced hair transplant surgeon. They will evaluate your hair loss pattern, discuss your goals, and determine the most suitable approach for your case. They can also provide you with information on potential risks, costs, and expected outcomes based on your specific situation.

Remember, while hair transplant can be an effective solution for hair loss, it may not be suitable for everyone. Consulting with a professional is crucial to determine the most appropriate treatment option for you
